DOI : 10.23893/1307-2080.APS6213 This study aimed to determine dietary habits, the time spent on sleeping and physical activity among primary school children and to compare the responses given by the children and their parents about their dietary habits. This crosssectional study was conducted on 282 children. A questionnaire including demographic characteristics, dietary habits, and some anthropometric measurements were performed. Physical activity and sleep duration were statistically different between overweight/obese and normal-weight children groups. The consumption of breakfast, lunch, fresh vegetables, dessert with dairy products, meat and meat products, chocolates, wafer, instant cake, pastry, and fast food was statistically higher in the overweight/obese group. Additionally, a statistical difference was found between "lunch consumption", "junk food consumption" and "the child finishes all food on his/her plate" according to the responses of children and parents. It is important to raise awareness of healthy eating, exercise, and sleeping habits among primary school children. Keywords : dietary habits, physical activity, sleep, children, body mass index
