This quasi-experimental, prospective study was conducted in a university hospital over a period of three months, and included patients who received PPIs before (1 month) and after (1 month) the education program. A questionnaire was used to assess physicians" knowledge before and after the education program. In this study, a total of 215 patients and 32 physicians participated. The rate of appropriate PPI prescribing for indication and administration route increased from 46.4% to 49.5% and from 48.2% to 51.5%, respectively, after the education program (p>0.05). The mean number of correct answers on the knowl edge questionnaire increased by 5 out of an average of 10 correct answers before the education to 15 correct answers after the education (p=0.001).
