SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF SOME NEW LAVONYLAZOLE DERIVATIVES

Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Ankara- Turkey Viewed : 17060 - Downloaded : 67 In this study, a new series of 2-[4’-[1-Azolyl]methyl]phenyl]-4H-benzopyran-4-on(A1-A3,A8) and 2-[3’-[1-Azolyl]methyl]phenyl]-4H-benzopyran-4-on (A4-A7) were synthesized by the reaction of 3’- and 4’-bromomethylflavone with azoles in strong alkaline conditions and some physico-chemical properties are described. The chemical structures of all synthesized compounds have been elucidated by IR, 1H-NMR, mass spectra. Antifungal and antibacterial activities of the compounds were compared with Miconazole and Ampicilline trihydrate. Keywords : FLAVONE DERIVATIVES, AZOLES, ANTIMICROBIAL, ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITIES
