H. Davis (Lamiaceae). The dried-in-shade at ambient temperature aerial parts of the plant were hydro-distilled for 3 h, using a modified Clevenger-type apparatus. In vitro antibacterial studies were carried out against eight bacteria strains and Candida albicans. The antimicrobial activity of the essential oil was carried out with the disc diffusion method. The results indicate that the essential oil remarkably inhibited the growth of tested microorganisms except Candida albicans. Keywords : ZIZIPHORA, ESSENTIAL OIL, ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY, PULEGONE
